Simple Nursery Update

This is a simple, simple, simple nursery update. Poor Cray, I actually love his room but it cost somewhere around $20…and that’s being generous.

I seriously had planned to use Kuy’s bedding because I LOVED it. But in our yellow house, their new rooms are side by side, so I wanted them to have some similar colors that I could then tie into the playroom that joins their rooms (more on that later). This color palette included navy and gray. Imagine that.

For that reason, I bought a new chevron crib sheet at Target for around $15 (and I think I actually exchanged some things!).

Next, I took seersucker fabric I already had from Kuy’s Easter outfit that Russ’ precious grandmother made and used it as the crib skirt!

But, this is where I know I really love it. You can’t see the sides, anyway, right? Therefore, I decided to fold it over, and wouldn’t you know, right on the edge was a tiny strip of gray to indicate the edge of the fabric…perfect little touch and I love the frayed edge!

And the painted pillow I made that fits perfectly!

Now, here’s what you can use…

I made this little banner out of twine, scrapbook paper, and tiny clothespins! THAT simple! Really!

I also love this little shot of these precious Learn to Read books that I found for fifty cents at a yard sale and the sailboat from Kuy’s Big Boy Room! The beautiful little box is from the boys’ Poppy (my dad!).

I know this simplistic nursery isn’t for everyone and that’s okay. But, remember how much I like to change things?

This way, since I’m not spending a large amount of money, I’m able to change it around quickly (because secretly, my great aunt has twin beds that I’m dying to use when Cray gets big enough…don’t worry I am NOT wishing this time as a baby away!)…What are your thoughts? Too simple or just enough?

Update: I found the before picture!
